THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE FULL-TIME IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA AND WILL WORK FROM THE SANTA MONICA, CA OFFICE THREE TO FOUR DAYS PER WEEK.

POSITION OVERVIEW   

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will join The Painted Turtle (TPT) at an exciting time as TPT enters the third decade with ambitious plans to grow the camper base and annual budget from $5.8 million in 2024 to $7.5 million by 2026.    

The Director of Development (Director) will lead and inspire a team of enthusiastic fundraisers across individual giving, grants, corporate giving, events, and The Painted Turtle Camp Store. The Director will oversee the design and implementation of all fundraising strategies and activities for the organization and work with members of the leadership team to achieve goals and milestones established in The Painted Turtle 2023-2025 Strategic Plan. The Director will also play a key role in Board of Directors development, engagement, and succession planning.

LOCATION 

Hybrid position 

  • Santa Monica, CA 

  • Hybrid – Three or four days in the Santa Monica office per week 

YOU ARE: 

  • Confident, self-motivated fundraiser with 5-7 years of success in mission-driven non-profit organizations 

  • Analytical thinker with proven ability to produce results in a deadline-oriented environment 

  • Exceptional written and oral communicator and storyteller with a high level of success in engaging prospective donors  

  • Highly energetic leader and manager with strong people skills including the judgment, discretion, patience and understanding needed to collaborate with the members of the diverse TPT community 

  • Lifelong learner with intellectual curiosity that prioritizes joy and heart in your work and life. 

SALARY/BENEFITS 

  • Salary range is $110,000 - $150,000/year  

  • Hybrid position – Three or four days in the Santa Monica office per week
